Graphene and its benefits for humanity
At the stand of a Chinese company that participates in the Congress, which was inaugurated today at the International Convention Center in Barcelona, clothing with built-in heating made with graphene or more efficient lightweight anti-pollution filters made with this product is shown. More than 950 experts in this new quantum material from around the world participate in this event, the most important ever held in Europe on this substance composed of pure carbon, with atoms arranged in hexagonal pattern, and which is 100 times stronger than the steel and 5 times lighter than aluminum. The event, organized by Phantoms Foundation, the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), has more than 250 speakers who will explain until Friday the latest achievements based on graphene, among them the Nobel Laureates Andre Geim and Albert Fert. The professor of the ICN2 Stephan Roche, one of the organizers, today explained t...
